The Brook’s motel is a great place to lay your head especially after a long day of activities in the area. The beds were very comfortable as were the linens and towels. We appreciated that they gave us slippers as there is no carpeting. We also appreciated the design choices but the nooks and crannies of the room can use a little love especially in the bathroom. It’s a great place for the price. We would definitely return.

I really hate giving critical reviews but I think my stay was likely an abnormal experience given the other positive reviews.
The good:
The fresh bed linens and towels were neatly laid out for use. The fridge and sink area was clean. The rooms itself is cute in a 2010’s DIY way.
The bad:
There was a lot of dirt, leaves and clumps of grey fur on our floors when we walked in.
The bathroom had a strange dark sand in clumps in the corners and smelled like a cat bathroom. The bathtub itself was dirty and I had to run out to the store for bathroom cleaner before using. The cold faucet fell off in my hand.
I honestly think housekeeping might have forgotten to complete prepping the room- like it was half done maybe? This all seemed kind of accidental.
I did reach out and ask if the tram had a shared cleaning closet so I could have a broom but the response didn’t know of any.
Otherwise it’s a cute spot.

Lovely spot! Very convenient to great Barrington and Hy Frys — a fantastic cocktail bar and fried chicken spot which turns into a killer dance party!

Positive:
Simple, old fashioned motel situation--comfortable beds, plenty of covers, quiet, clean--a great place to stay. And well worth the price. I was amazed I found this on Memorial Day weekend. Owners/hosts are great--full of info and very available. All in all, a great place.

The Brooks is a cool, mod motel remodel. No one on site but easy check in process. Clean and simple, good value too.

Brooks motel is aiming in the right direction of the bespoke renovated minimalist motel experience but came up short in a few areas. It is austere, with easy no-fuss access, but small rooms, with particle board as the main aesthetic renovation, a tiny television, no hot water, and no switch for the light/fan in the bathroom. It was an exceptionally cold weekend but the thermostat had not been corrected before we arrived — so it was 56 degrees upon arrival and walking around on freezing cold poured concrete floors. The staff was responsive on messaging apps but couldn’t do anything to correct the issues and didn’t offer any partial refund. I think the heart is in the right place for bringing a lower cost option to the area, but has a ways to go on execution.

The Brooks was a wonderful place to stay in a very central part of Columbia county. Near Butternut ski resort, Great Barrington Mass and Hillsdale has some really great new cafes and a great vibe.

I'm pretty sure the bed had the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. The room had an eclectic, industrial decor, with concrete floors, all of which i liked. More than ample towels. Heat worked well on a very cold night. It's on a pretty piece of property, and even though it's on a busy street, the rooms are insulated from the road. The rooms are arranged in a horseshoe shape so it feels less like a motel and more like a little village. My only suggestion would be a soft cozy rug in the bathroom, where your feet could use a buffer from the concrete floor. Easy enough to fix. I really enjoyed the place!

Convenient to where we needed to be
Negative:
The check in since there is no front desk. Everything is done remotely. The heat was locked out so we were not able to adjust the thermostat up. Some friends of ours didn’t have bath towels in their rooms. Only hand towels.

Great stay! We stopped overnight w/kids on a road trip and it was perfect, quick easy and clean. Def check out the roe jan brewery too about 3 min away, so good.

The Brooks was a great place to stay! It is a convenient location, beautiful rooms, very comfortable beds and the restaurants in the area were fantastic. I loved that after booking, they sent a list of suggested restaurants/ things to do! That was so helpful. I will definitely be staying here again!

Great spot to stay for a night or two while upstate. We booked last minute and everything went smoothly. Loved that it was pet friendly too!

Ce fut un séjour parfait pour nous dans cet hébergement. L'hôte était hyper gentil! L'endroit était parfaitement propre. La déco super originale. Les lits confortables! Grand espace extérieur pour faire courrir les chiens sécuritairements ou prendre une marche près de la rivière. Près de tout service. Je recommande sans hésiter!
It was a perfect stay for us in this accommodation. The host was super nice! The place was perfectly clean. The super original decor. Comfortable beds! Large outdoor space to safely run dogs or take a walk near the river. Close to all services. I recommend without hesitation!

Cute little town, very friendly people, was there on a hunting trip and it was perfect quaint space to come back to at night, beds were super comfortable, clean, wish i knew where the linens were from because i want them
