It’s a nice motel near the road. It’s clean and updated. The walls are thin, so be prepared if you’re a light sleeper.

Room was just as shown. Room is somewhat small, but really thoughtfully set up. Super clean and very comfortable bed with great air conditioning which made for wonderful nights of sleeping.
5/25/2026
Cute concept. Comfortable overall. Some small changes would make it even better!
3/21/2026
Nice comfortable beds in a great location and a good value, appreciated the Tommy Bs pizza recommendation, it was incredible!
2/28/2026
This was the perfect stay. It’s a great location down the road from the mountain close to great barrington. The room is quaint and all you need for a quick trip. Will definitely stay again in the future!

Super convenient location.

The Brooks was a great stay, and would highly recommend.

Good stay

Grateful for the night out. The space was unique, and clean.
12/28/2025
Wonderfully responsive hosts, who accommodated our need for last minute changes!
Simple but clean and comfortable accommodations. Great bed, quiet setting, easy access.
Thank you - we’ll come again next time we need to be in the area!

Positive:
The communication was awesome how to unlock the door pad regulate the heat to my comfort n very comfortable bed hot on the Internet without a hassle thank you
Negative:
You should have a microwave that's the only issue
11/6/2025
It was probably the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. It’s very simple but an excellent place to stay. I loved the style and how responsive they were. I’d stay again if passing through.
10/19/2025
Positive:
The house was fine but the check in was weird
Negative:
There was no staff on hand at all - this is a completely remote operation - no hospitality, no support, no one answers the phone, no one helps.
10/12/2025
Easygoing stay featuring modern design aesthetic. Each unit has a semi-enclosed patio which provided a nice touch of privacy. Close by to restaurants, hikes, and amenities.
10/5/2025
Perfect stop heading between kids' colleges. Very comfortable bed and very quiet when we got there.
9/28/2025
Positive:
Loved the location and the fact the hotel was quiet.
Loved I could have my dog with me
Negative:
No microwave. Room had a damp musty smell. No dresser to put your clothes in. Had to live out of my suitcase for a 5 day stay. Only 2 tiny hooks to try and hang up clothes.
9/4/2025
Positive:
Great value for the Berkshires. Great location. Rate was really reasonable. Basic but stylish. Clean. The check-in instructions by email were helpful. We slept great. The bed was very comfortable and firm. Since there is no carpet on the floor, there was no musty, low-end motel smell. The AC worked well. It was on when we arrived but we turned it off. We actually turned up the thermostat for heat at night after getting rained on at a music festival. The room warmed up quickly.
Negative:
The floors are painted concrete, I think. So they were cold. I think that ends up being a plus because motel carpet can smell and be full of dirt. Next time, and there will be a next time, I will just bring a pair of socks.
9/3/2025
Negative:
No office on premises
9/3/2025
Great location and value
8/31/2025
Simple, clean. Close to nearby attractions in Massachusetts by car.
8/16/2025
Positive:
The room met the expectations with what was posted
Negative:
Occasional insects in the bathroom
8/8/2025
This place is affordable and conveniently located. Be aware it’s similar to arriving at a drive up motel except there is no office/front desk. The room is basic so you need to be prepared and bring wine opener, plates, utensils etc… if you plan on bringing small food items. Also- there is no ice!
8/7/2025
Positive:
Comfortable bed... wi-fi....
Negative:
There 3 days... towels for 1 day... body wash in shower empty... door sticks...
8/4/2025
Nice quiet space in the town of Hillsdale, easy to access and pleasant stay. Very grateful for the Brooks Motel.
7/8/2025
Great for a quick stay! And it was dog friendly which was awesome!
6/25/2025
clean, updated motel. just a bed and a bathroom .
6/15/2025
Positive:
I like the location and the rooms are very comfortable
Negative:
The only thing that I didn’t like was the room I had this time which was room 9 didn’t have a toaster oven or microwave. Now the last room that I was staying in the last time was room 21 and that room met our expectations. But other than that the motel is really good
6/4/2025
Positive:
I love the person who assisted me over the phone. She was extremely patient and very helpful. She is a valuable emploeyee.
Negative:
The cancelation from brooks motel. Then I have to rebook.
5/24/2025
Great place, I would recommend it
5/21/2025
The place was basic but clean and comfortable! I think for the price, it is a great deal and easy tog at to and from in the area. The bed was memory foam and the pillows were super comfortable and linens clean and fresh. It does have that industrial vibe, which worked totally fine for us. We had an issue at checkin but the staff were super helpful and responsive via phone. The place is quiet and although near the road, we didn’t hear anything. The bathroom is basic, definitely an older building and the door was starting to crack from use but for the price we didn’t mind, especially since it was clean.
5/20/2025
Great spot! Simple, clean and great value. So near Catamount ski area too! We will be back!
5/17/2025
Hosts were excellent with communicating and making sure we were taken care of. Listing description and photos reflected accurately. Bed was nice & very comfy. Did have some issues with the AC unit but hosts were able to help resolve in a timely manner. Recommendations for local spots were also nice to have. For a one night reservation, the off season pricing was a little high for accommodations/motel setting, but seemed to reflect accurate due to high tourist area.
5/2/2025
This is a basic motel but with a modern sensibility and at a slightly elevated pricepoint.
The room design was forward in a good way but little things could have been improved such as better lighting in the bathroom. The bathroom door was also noisy and hard to shut.
Nice that there was a coffee maker and fridge as well as a USB port above the bedside shelf. A larger tv would have been appreciated.
Stayed here during a home renovation but I would recommend to others as a relatively reasonably priced, no frills modern option in an otherwise expensive area.
Nice branding and paint job on this property.
4/25/2025
I spent two nights at the Brooks and it’s a great updated motel. Overall great experience!
3/19/2025
Very clean and safe
2/18/2025
Nice Getaway
2/16/2025
It is a nice place to stay, it is clean and cozy. The first day we did not have hot water, it was a really cold day and the water was extremely cold. They were very responsive and they were trying to fix the issue but it was a little late so we had to take the bath like that, I was dying, it was freezing. The next morning everything was back to normal so we enjoyed the stay a little more.
2/15/2025
Was a fine experience. Not many surprises here! Very small but very serviceable room. Nice location and right on a lovely stream. There was no hot water the next morning.
2/8/2025
Brooks motel was great. The place is very intelligently laid out and decorated. It has a very satisfying minimalism — it has everything you need and nothing you don’t. The place was also spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Great value and convenience.
2/1/2025
Very nice

1/25/2025

1/22/2025
Was good
1/11/2025
Wow, this is the best location so convenient and affordable. Can’t say enough good things! Host is super sweet and accommodating. Omg
1/4/2025
Positive:
Location was great and room was great for what we needed- a place to gather during NYE festivities
Negative:
The room was 55degrees when we arrived and took almost 6 hours to reach 68 degrees which was frustrating
12/29/2024
Easy and close to the local ski mountain. Place was clean and relaxing, if a bit on the small side. Would book here again.
12/27/2024
Clean, cheap place to lay your head for the night. Nothing more, nothing less.
12/1/2024
Stayed there for one night for a quick peaceful getaway. Nice quiet place & near everything. Hosts provide with some kitchen equipment, fridge, towels, & even slippers. Hosts communicated with kindness & respect. Many great restaurants for food. We went to Bish Bash Falls which is 10 mins away for a quick hike. Overall great experience at this airbnb.
11/23/2024
This place was perfect. Quick and easy check in and was exactly as described. The motel itself is super cute and the rooms are very clean. Would definitely recommend if in the area and need a place to stay.
11/23/2024
Clean, very quiet. The only thing is the wall heater made some noise throughout the night that was loud/annoying at times if you are a light sleeper. The room is clean, and has everything you need. No stopper for the bathtub so you cannot take a bath.
11/21/2024
Great stay! Discount pricing on second night was a treat!
11/13/2024
Great spot, even better people!
11/9/2024
The Brooks was great for my husband and I. The hosts were very quick with their responses. They helped us with everything. The location was also great. The photos looked exactly like the room. We would definitely consider this location.
11/9/2024
Minimalist, clean, and scenic location in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Comfortable bed for an overnight stay. The Hils Holiday house provides historic charm!
11/9/2024
Had a great time! Always nice to find a pet-friendly stay, highly recommend!
11/7/2024
Very basic and small room and bathroom, but clean and uncluttered, does everything you want it for an overnight. The grassy area behind the house is great for the dogs!
11/2/2024
Clean place to stay and great location.
11/2/2024
Great place to stay
10/31/2024
I have been house hunting in the Berkshires so I have stayed at The Brooks quite few times. I love it! I find it to be comfortable, clean, convenient and reasonably priced during the week. Although it is right on a main road it is quiet and peaceful even on the full nights. It is located just outside the center of Hillsdale which is a lovely spot with a great coffeeshop, brewpub and the Rail Trail. The staff is responsive and helpful and check-in is a breeze. I recommend The Brooks.
10/30/2024
Very comfy and clean, hosts were kind, helpful, and super responsive. Highly recommend!
10/27/2024
Cute and quaint accommodation, close to Hudson, NY, and Great Barrington, MA. The bed was very firm. The parking lot was a bit chaotic, and the walls are very thin. We heard neighboring rooms’ dogs barking and people coming and going throughout the night. The floors are concrete but were provided with spa slippers which was a nice touch.
10/26/2024
Had a lovely time staying at The Brooks! Check in was super easy and the place was spotless. The bed was very comfortable after a long day exploring the area! Overall the room is comfy for a great price in a beautiful area!
10/23/2024
I spent three nights here in early October and had a great stay. It was quiet and relaxing. There's a supermarket in town as well as some cute places to eat. There are some beautiful hiking trails in the area and the fall colors are magnificent at this time of year.
10/23/2024
Very clean, comfortable place. I would definitely stay here again.
10/17/2024
Communication was quick and the recommendations were terrific! We were very thankful for the flexible check in times and the area is beautiful
10/17/2024
I have stayed at the Brooks a couple of times. It is clean, simple, comfortable and convenient. The town of Hillsdale which is 2 minutes down the road has all you need including a lovely walk on the Rail Trail. I have only stayed at the Brooks during the week so it is less expensive than on the weekends which I imagine get busy. I recommend it!
10/12/2024
My husband and I needed a place to stay for an overnight trip to Hudson and because it was last minute, we ended up having to stay outside of Hudson. The Brooks Motel was about 20 minutes away so we ended up staying here. As far as motels go, it’s pretty cute and the self check-in is convenient. The walls are a bit thin so we could hear some people nextdoor talking loudly pretty late into the night. If you need a quick stay in the area, this is a pretty good option. I do think it’s expensive for what it is, but so is everything these days.
10/11/2024
Great spot, clean, nice resting zone
10/2/2024
Stylish, minimalist, very clean and comfortable bed. Great value and a great base to explore the area. Hillsdale is a beautiful town with lots of history and great food and drink options. We spent the day hiking to Bash Bish falls and the historic iron mill (complete with its miniature train).
9/28/2024
It was as expected , the surrounding area was nice and not far from Bash bish falls which was a highlight
9/14/2024
Nice minimalist accommodation in a quaint location.
9/14/2024
great stay, newly updated motel. had a smart tv and a refrigerator which were both nice additions
9/12/2024
I have stayed at The Brooks a few times during on week days. It is minimalist, clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient.
8/31/2024
Cute and convenient
8/31/2024
We were in town for one night to pick up a camper that we recently purchased and stayed one night here. It was perfect. Clean, quaint, and close to a brewery where we had dinner. Definitely be back should the opportunity present itself.
8/31/2024
We had a great stay at The Brooks. It was just as advertised. Clean and comfortable. Hosts were responsive. A great place for an overnight in the area. Loved the Roe Jan Brew Pub. Hillsdale is a great location close to Western MA and northern CT.
8/24/2024
We stayed a night at The Brooks during a quick trip to the Berkshires, and the room was clean and the bed and the linens comfortable. We had a very loud group next door who were out on their front porch until about 2am, preventing us from sleeping. The room was expensive for what it is, but that's to be expected in the summertime for that area.
8/10/2024
Great location, scenic and conveniently located for Berkshire attractions. Host was proactive and communicative and everything was as expected!
8/10/2024
Convenient, comfortable and affordable.
7/29/2024
Positive:
So so clean! Great great great!!! Best place I’ve stayed in!!
7/18/2024
Great stay!
7/17/2024
Such a great find! Will definitely be back If going to Tanglewood or Kripalu!
7/13/2024
Easy location and comfy beds. Parking lot frustrating as guests took up each other’s spots. Otherwise great!
7/10/2024
This place was perfect for my stay. It’s small, basic set up, clean and comfortable. I was simply looking for a place to stay at night, not a hang out. Small fridge, no microwave which would have been nice to have. Bed was comfy and bathroom was clean. Life is good.
7/3/2024
My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the Brooks. The hosts are friendly and responsive. They responded quick and at all hours of the night. Only some rooms have certain amenities, such as a microwave, so specify any equipment you may need during your stay. The area was breathtaking as well. Though it is beautiful, it is difficult to get anywhere without a car. The hosts did help us find taxi services nearby when our car was not available. Overall, they helped create a memorial experience for me and my boyfriend and turned a difficult situation into a happy one. Thank you!
7/1/2024
Positive:
Very clean, with a fun, industrial vibe in the room. Very comfortable bed. Good communication about how to get into the room when arriving late. Was a very nice stay.
Negative:
Nothing…
6/28/2024
Fantastic experience from start to finish ! Hosts were very helpful, responsive and accommodating. Unit was exactly as pictured and we found it much nicer in person, almost an “industrial chic” aesthetic that was pleasing. Covered porch area with seating before you walk in. Inside unit had a mini fridge, coffee maker, coffee and drinking glasses, iron and board with ample desk space. Quality towels and bed linens that were crisp and bright. Also offered slippers. Bed was VERY comfortable. AC worked great. I’m in the cleaning industry - this place was PRISTINE and clean! The grounds were well kept, very beautiful and private yet very safe. We ate at several local restaurants and the food was delicious. You’re close enough to highways but far enough away for a nice escape. Highly recommended to others. I will definitely be back. Thank you Brooks for setting a high standard for short term rentals. 🥂
6/23/2024
Positive:
Nice room, decent shower. I like that they provided coffee. Good supply of towels. Air conditioning worked very well.
Negative:
Two concerns, one minor, one major: I really wanted to swim in the creek behind the property. I was unable to find access to the water. I was able to see the creek, but that was all. My other concern regards the in room TV. If I wanted to watch a channel, I needed to supply my Amazon login information to download the channel. I would have done it, however, I had no idea if my information would have been Amazon login information would have been deleted. As a result, I never watched the TV. I sent a text message to motel management about this, but I never received a reply. That was a major drawback.
6/9/2024
It was clean and cool and functional. There was an odd smell in the room that was a bit plastic-y. Maybe paint? Otherwise great. The floor is cement which might surprise some people.
6/9/2024
Nice stay for the night, looked the photos and gave us eveything we needed!
5/25/2024
Cute place! Great location!
5/6/2024
Amazing stay for our us and our fur baby! I would recommend to my family and friends!!
5/5/2024
Great place to stay for a night or a few days, quiet and peaceful area
5/4/2024
Good barebones stay for the price. Convenient to checkin and comfy bed, TV were the highlights. Just bring socks because the floor is concrete and gets quite cold, although they do provide some disposable slippers that help.
4/24/2024
Needed a nice clean place to stay for one night. This was perfect. Nice accommodation, easy access comfortable apartment.
4/20/2024
Great stay! We loved the creek in the back perfect stay if your planning on hiking only 30 mins from the Catskills!
4/20/2024
We were just passing through but loved that it was affordable, just what we needed, close to town and restaurants without being too noisy. They were very helpful with parking since we had a trailer. The best part is, not only did they accept dogs, but no extra charge. That in itself is almost unheard of! If we ever come through again, there's no doubt we would stay here!!
4/12/2024
This little historical motel so nicely renovated is exactly what I was hopping for. Very tasteful, fun, calm, welcoming and charming. What an awesome place! I would definitely come back. And price wise, really worth it.
3/8/2024
Positive:
Excellent location for my needs. Very neat and clean
3/7/2024
Great place!
3/3/2024
Fantastic host!
2/29/2024
Great little spot with plenty of style breathed into a classic little motor lodge. Room was small but perfectly suited for my needs. Amazingly convenient to Catamount & great barrington
2/20/2024
Great place!!! Clean, comfy, great hosts, very nice place. Thank you so much!!
2/20/2024
Will come back again.
2/14/2024
the Brooks was great, just as expected, easy to access, simple lodgings, communicative host. would definitely recommend for a short visit.
2/5/2024
It was the perfect spot for my pup and I for the night! Clean and cozy. The bed was extremely comfortable. Location was perfect for hiking/skiing. Will definitely be back!
1/31/2024
Positive:
Second time here and love this place. So close to skiing and is a clean updated space.
1/13/2024
Enjoyed our stay for the night, cozy place meant for two! Had a little trouble with the wifi going in and out on the tv and the shower was a little hard to work, overall a good stay if going on a ski trip!
1/9/2024
Had a great stay at the Brooks motel. The location is a quick drive to Catamount and the room itself is very comfortable and sound-proof.
1/7/2024
Just like the pictures! Very clean and super comfortable. No complaints. Well worth the price we paid. The host was very responsive when a small issue arose even though it was late at night.
I saw a review saying there was no heat or a/c. That’s incorrect. It has both and they work very well. Also, regarding a review mentioning thin walls, I was able to hear the conversation from another room. However, it was only briefly and did not bother us in the slightest. Even the shower was quite and I could hardly hear it when my husband was in it. It was a very quiet place even though it was NYE. Very peaceful location.
I 100% recommend. We’d definitely stay again.
12/27/2023
Perfect for a day trip to catamount mountain, 2 minute drive from the mountain, clean bed and bath, warm room, responsive host.
12/17/2023
Positive:
Nice and quiet location. Nice upgrade from how it used to be. It is clean and comfortable. Small room but how much time you stay in room.
Negative:
Need better lighting to see driveway to turn in
12/12/2023
We stayed at Andrew’s place for one night. It was clean, comfortable bed. Room is a little small but was ok for a night. We love the fact that we could bring our puppy. If you’re looking for a place to crash for a night or two this is a great place for that. Quiet and beautiful property.
12/12/2023
Nice stay, very helpful host.
12/3/2023
It's a wonderful place, close to my children, easy in - easy out, and 100% cotton sheets!
