Had a ski weekend with daycare preschool families at the house and the space was big enough to accommodate 3 families. There aren’t any breakable items in the house, which was great for letting preschoolers roam around on their own.
The house was 2 minutes drive from Catamount mountain, which made our weekend significantly easier.
A few housekeeping things could be improved, but overall a great stay!

My family and I were looking for a quiet place to stay for Christmas with our 3 dogs. This was a perfect spot for us. We were hoping to ski on Christmas Day but the slopes were not snowy enough for us, but if they were in peak condition this location would be amazing – only 2 miles away from Catamount Mountain. We did do a lovely hike to Bash Bish Falls with the 3 dogs and that was beautiful. I know there is a lot more to explore in the area but we were only there for one full day. The place was big and rustic and had everything we needed.

Amazing place, everything was spotless and super close to Catamount! Its a very large house that has room for all our friends and a well stocked kitchen. Comfy beds and sheets. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Lovely location just off of NY State 23. We came for the long weekend and to go to Bonnie Raitt at Tanglewood — which is a beautiful 35-min scenic drive from the Brooks. My friends especially loved the comfortable yet firm enough bed and crisp linens.

This is an old house, which we understand can have its quirks. Most of the window A/C units in the house had been sealed to prevent pests, but ours was not and a bat got in during the night, leading to an ER visit and a full rabies vaccination series while on our trip. They are running this house along with a 27+ room motel remotely with only a cleaning crew and no on-site host. The lack of oversight contributed to the bat incident and other issues: strong pungent smoke odor, fireplace debris on the floor, misinformation about the home from the person messaging us on the app, 4 large boxes left on the porch for days, and strangers knocking late at night for motel check-in help. There were unlocked storage areas and while the location was fine, the poor oversight and maintenance made our stay stressful and unsafe. We appreciated the free motel room offered on our last night, but the owner offered no apology and scoffed at us for following NY Health Dept guidance and getting vaccinated.

The Brooks had fabulous and communicative hosts and the house was the perfect location to house our crew for a nearby film shoot. Would definitely book here again!

We truly enjoyed our stay here with our family of 8 adults and 4 children who were meeting in Hillsdale for a family birthday/reunion. The living area is comfortable and spacious, the dining area able to fit all at the table, and the sunny porch area a delight just to relax in. We loved the 'secret stairway to one of the bedrooms and the under the stairs nook for a child to read in. We also enjoyed walking around the side yard to the river-a place for kids to explore and run. There is some truck noise early at night but we got used to it after a day. The house is also currently missing screens on some windows so those rooms got hot on warm days lasting through the evening. We did ask for the available air conditioning window units but did not receive those during our stay. The bathrooms are small but were adequate for our stay, the shower with a nice flow and hot. Beds were very comfortable. This house is old and unique, and a great gathering place for a large group.

The house was spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated. The house is in a great location,
Upon checkout the cleaning crew was parked outside the front door waiting for us to leave before the 11a checkout time. This put a big damper on an otherwise pleasant stay

This place was not updated. It was old and not bright enough. Was very dark and not clean. Doors don’t close right and some didn’t close at all.
Don’t book, their preview reviews must of been fake.

Andrew was a wonderful host! Very communicative and responsive to all of our needs. The area is lovely, and the home is really worth the money. It's a perfect place to stay and just a 3 min drive to Catamount with great dining options in the area as well. We'd love to come again!

Super cute house! Decorated nicely and was nice to drink coffee by the fireplace in the morning. Host was super friendly and communicated well. Will come back to this house when in the area again!

Had a great stay, centrally located near the Berkshires and Hudson. House is well decorated and our group of 8 had plenty of space to spread out. We were able to make a nice dinner together, found the house to so much plates/glassware and lots of seating for all our guests. Reccomend to all!
